'Voodoo' is a new mini-fest celebrating the eclectic musical heritage of the Deep South (Coast!) - a journey through Funky Underground House, Oldskool, Nu-Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro, Funky Breaks, Soulful House, Disco, Hip Hop, Reggae and more. From the late 80s, the south coast of England was a hotbed of music culture - they were blessed in this area to have born many trailblazers, legendary venues, promoters & DJs and we have assembled some of this area's finest alongside some legends of the scene to celebrate that heritage. Aimed at people who appreciate great music, Voodoo aims to recapture the essence of the early nineties when it all began - friendly, unpretentious and real, with music that has soul, groove and personality.
There's a special kind of magic partying in the fresh air, surrounded by trees, under the stars. Just like in Voodoo magic, in a festival of celebration held under the trees, if done right, the music and the beat of the drums will possess you and you won't be able to stand still! If this happens, you are doing Voodoo! Good music ~ good vibes ~ good times - come with a smile on your face and your dancing shoes ON!
This event will also be raising funds for SOA TALK, a local charity offering peer to peer support groups for Men & Women’s Mental Health in memory of Martyn Skinner.
3 areas of music (new addition - the HOODOO HUT!) -DJs & LIVE MUSIC - Quirky Stalls - Live Art & Live Street Art by top UK street artists - Bar - Delicious Food - Top Quality Sound, Lights, Production, Decor & Special Effects - LED Screens, entertainers, Best Dressed Voodoo Costume Competition and more.

COSTUMES!
In 2023 the costumes were phenomenal and it proves how many of you LOVE to dress up given the chance!! So for 2024, the theme, if you would like to dress up, is still VOODOO but you can add an additional theme twist of 'THE ELEMENTS' so think VOODOO STYLE costume still, but with an optional twist of :
FIRE | WATER | ICE | AIR | EARTH
There are TWO DAYS to play with now, so you can choose two different variations for each day, so you might opt for FIRE on Saturday and EARTH on Sunday. The festival will be awarding a prize to the best dressed on each day!
For costume inspiration check out our Pinterest Board : think High Priestess / Baron Samedi / Bond Live & Let Die / Solitaire / Tribal / Dia De Los Muertos / Feather Headdresses / New Orleans Jazz / Steampunk / Intergalactic Space Pirate / and then add any of the Elements mentioned above if you wish! The theme is for you to interpret as you wish and have fun with it!
